Procurement Policy Division, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, vide OM No. 1/3/2024/PPD, dated 10/07/2024 has notified cerain major amemdments in the General Financial Rules, mainly to increase the limits prescribed for various modes of procurement. Important amendments are listed below:-

  1. Rule 149: Limits for direct procurement through Government e Marketplace (GeM) increased to 50,000/-, limit for procurement of the lowest product out of the available sellers in GeM incresaed to 10,00,000/-.
  2. Rules 154: Limit for procurement without quatation (also referred as Direct Purchase) is icreased to 50,000/-.
  3. Rule 155: Limit for procurement by Local Purchase Committee (LPC) incresaed to 5,00,000/-.
