Vedvyas is a holy place in Rourkela of Sudergarh Dstrict, Odisha where three rivers, Sankh, Koel, and Saraswati meet and form the Brahmani River. This Sangam is considered as pious as the Triveni Sangam at Allahabad. Like the Saraswati river is disguised at Triveni Sangam, the Saraswati river remains disguised at Vedvyas.

The Saraswati river at Vedvyas, in fact is originating from underground (Saraswati Kund) and then takes the shape of a stream before merging with Koel and Sankh. However, the origin is invisible.

It said to be the birthplace of the great sage Vedvyas, who wrote the Mahabharata epic. It is also belved that the sage wrote Mahabharat sitting inside a cave here. The cave is now referred as Vedvyas Gufa.

Vedvyas has many temples, including Lord Shiva temple, Lord Rama temple, and Lord Jagannath temple. Vedvyas witnesses a large gathering of devotees on the occassion of Maha Shivaratri. During this time, a 10-14 days long fete is organized at this Hindu religious site.

Nearest Railway station to reach Vedvyas is Rourkela (ROU), which lies on the Howrah-Mumbai and Ranchi-Bhubaneswar route. It is located on the NH connecting Rourkela and Sambalpur, about 15 km from the Rourkela Railway Station. However, no public transports are available to reach to Vedvyas.
